Gigi Hadid Fights Back Against Celebrity Menance

September 23, 2016. 1 Comment

Watchers of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” known that since a very young age, model Gigi Hadid’s workout game has been A++. Partially her workout ethic was instilled in her by her own model mom, Yolanda Hadid/Foster, but that competitive work hard spirit is also just in her.

All that was paid back in spades yesterday when she was assaulted by douchebag prankster, Vitalii Sediuk, the same Ukranian jerk who was kicked out of the United States for an attack on Brad Pitt. He has also ambushed Will Smith (‘member that time he was kissed dead on the lips? That was Sediuk), Kim Kardashian, America Ferrera and Adele at various public events.

Check out our timeline events for the Gigi ambush below:

Just prior to the event, Sediuk filmed himself outside the location of the Max Mara show in Milan, where streets were filled with people coming and going from shows, along with photographers prepared to shoot attendees and models.

Having just walked Max Mara, Gigi and her sister Bella Hadid, were swarmed by fans and photographers as they walked out of the show on the way to their car. Amiably, the girls stopped a few times for fan selfies. If you watch carefully, Sediuk can be seen lurking in the background.

As the camera angle changes, we see he has swooped in and picked up Gigi as though they’re vacationing lovers in a romantic Italian film. Gigi at first was startled not knowing why she was being picked up, but as her sister began to react, yelling, “Let go of her!” while attempting to pull her free, it occurred to Gigi the guy is a complete nut job, and she pulled an elbow free, took aim and hit him squarely in the face. Sediuk skulked off immediately, but our heroine wasn’t done yet, charging toward him, yelling, “Who the fuck are you?” and “You piece of shit!”

Finally, a lumbering and seemingly dazed security guard sprung into action, though rather than going after the creep, instead grabbed Gigi’s arm to keep her from chasing him down. Back on track with the task at hand–getting to her car and heading to her next JOB, Gigi strode to her waiting car and directed the still befuddled guard to grab Sediuk.

Because all women’s bodies belong to men, following the event U.K. tabloid-style paper The Sun created another firestorm with a Gigi-admonishing headline reading, “Furious Gigi Hadid lashes out and ELBOWS a fan in the FACE after he tries to pick her up.”

Huffington Post reporter Rachel McCrath admonished back, chiding the paper for putting the blame on Gigi. The Sun responded with a series of headline changes, with the latest reading “DON’T MESS WITH GIGI: Moment model Gigi Hadid elbows prankster in the face when he pounces on her in the street and lifts her off the floor.”

— Rachel McGrath (@RachelMcGrath) September 22, 2016

Gigi retweeted McGrath and thanked her, and then let us know she thanked her boxing coach, too. In another Tweet, she provided sage advice to her female followers, telling them to prepare themselves should they ever be attacked.

GIRLS, prepare yourselves so that, if you ever feel in danger, MUSCLE MEMORY can fight back for you. Thank you all so much for ur support.❤️

Yolanda (who straddles both worlds as a Hadid on Instagram and a Foster on Twitter) responded on Twitter by rapping The Sun for its idiotic headline and then praised her daughter on Instagram. Shout out to Gotham Gym!

❤️Bravo Gigi for defending yourself and standing up for what is rightfully yours, your mind, body and soul should not be touched by anyone unless you want to……….. #GirlPower #Boundaries #Defense #BoxingSkills @gothamgym

Undaunted and still free, Sediuk has uploaded images to his Instagram confirming he went after Gigi along with a statement claiming he did it to save fashion from Instagram famous models like Gigi and Kendell Jenner, who he said, “Have nothing to do with high fashion.” Nice try, dude. The truth if you’re not a sociopath, you’re a certified douchebag. Good luck in your next life as a cockroach.

Scathing 5,400-word report via The Cut's Tahirah H Scathing 5,400-word report via The Cut's Tahirah Hairston on Kerby Jean-Raymond whose label Pyer Moss appears to no longer be operational.

Check out an excerpt below.

Ten years in, Jean-Raymond’s star has only risen. He hangs out with celebrities (Tracee Ellis Ross, Brent Faiyaz), made a cameo on Insecure, and drives flashy cars (a McLaren 720S, an Aston Martin Superleggera, a Porsche GT3 RS). Meanwhile, his brand is nearly nonexistent.

There is no Pyer Moss boutique. The clothing celebrated on the runway was mostly not available to anybody who didn’t have a celebrity stylist to pull it for them, and company insiders complained that quality control was so uneven that at times what was produced was too flawed to be sold. Jean-Raymond sometimes missed deadlines, didn’t always pay bills, started other projects, and alienated allies. He referred to Pyer Moss as an “art project” and seemed reluctant to make practical choices. Among the fashion insiders who had cheered his rise, there has been a growing feeling that he has wasted an opportunity to build something important.

The last straw for many of his early supporters was his couture show in July 2021. Titled “WAT U IZ,” and put on in the U.S. during Paris Couture Week, it was a tribute to the various innovations that Black people have been responsible for, often without credit. The models came down the runway decked out in a jar of peanut butter and a traffic light. A lot of it wasn’t really clothing, much less couture. Even if the professional critics and other members of the fashion press seemed hesitant to publicly express their disappointment, they whispered among each other that he’d lost the plot of his brand.
