New York-based designer Chris Habana’s My Enemy Jewelry (his diffusion line) collection for summer 2017 retains its punkish DNA while at the same time reflect’s Habana’s long held admiration for handmade, African accessories often with ancient roots like the Mursi’s lip plate jewelry, as well as the Dassanech’s DIY use of bottle caps for jewelry and headwear. Through typography, Habana personalizes the collections and adds his own tribal signature.
Highlighting the beautiful individuality of the various tribes of New York creatives, the campaign for the collection was photographed by Daniel Bollinger and includes eight-year-old performer Marley “Mars” Zino, nightlife personality and model Sussi, tattoo artist Lika Pagan, plus models Eddy Leroy Jr.and Farideh Arbanian.
Makeup was handled by Ryan Burke using Pat McGrath with hair by Colby Bartug and styling directed by designer Chris Habana himself.
