Kate Spade Celebrates The Holidays With Miss Piggy

November 1, 2016. Leave a Comment

Kate Spade has released its holiday campaign, introducing the brand’s  exclusive collaboration with Miss Piggy. The line is comprised of a wristlet, clutch, tote, wallet, necklace, key chain, sweater, stud earrings and iPhone cases, offered in Miss Piggy’s signature colors, often detailed with her signature “Who mois?” phrase.

When asked about the importance of style in her life, Miss Piggy stated, “My style is more moi-centric. In the beginning, I used to seek approval from others about my fashion choices. Now, I trust myself. If I wear it, you better like it. Attitude is everything. Your clothes should always make a statement. I like mine to say, ‘Yoo-hoo, everybody, look at me! I’m fabulous! Don’t you wish you were moi?’ I also believe every young women needs to know that though you may have to struggle and strive to achieve your dreams, you can have oodles of fun along the way. Be curious. Be daring. Be different. Be yourself. And, if that doesn’t work, be moi!”

The campaign also includes model Jourdan Dunn and stylist Catherine Baba. Kate Spade in December will also release a holiday film titled “Miss Adventure” starring Miss Piggy, Sozia Mamet and The Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine.

Miss Piggy merchandise hits Kate Spade stores and Nordstrom on November 1st.

Retailer Atmos, owned by Foot Locker will be ceasi Retailer Atmos, owned by Foot Locker will be ceasing operations in North America. The website and retail locations will be shutting down to further focus on Japan in Asia.

In press about the announcement Atmos SVP and GM Patrick Walsh says,"The Atmos brand has a unique and authentic identity, character and spirit. Given the strength of Atmos in Japan and Asia, we are focused on further investing in this market. Though in line with this focus and our plans for simplification, we have made the strategic decision to close our three Atmos stores in North America and our Atmos U.S. website. We are confident that this is the right move for Atmos and will help us continue to work in service of bringing sneaker and street culture to our customers in Asia.”

The Atmos women's store in Philadelphia opened in October 2022!!
Today, Kering announced the appointment of Dublin, Today, Kering announced the appointment of Dublin, Ireland-born designer Sean McGirr as the new creative director of Alexander McQueen after the departure of Sarah Burton.

A graduate of London’s prestigious Central Saint Martins fashion school, he embarked on his career as an assistant at Burberry and Vogue Hommes Japan before becoming part of the creative team at Uniqlo. Prior to his tenure at JW Anderson, McGirr served as the womenswear designer at the renowned Belgian fashion brand, Dries Van Noten.

With the appointment of McGuirr Kering no longer has any woman creative director for its fashion brands. The visual on the slide.

A new #Gucci luggage campaign under Sabato de Sarn A new #Gucci luggage campaign under Sabato de Sarno's creative direction starring Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny, was unveiled this weekend.

To give context to the campaign, a portion of the press release reads,"Shot in an airport, the meeting place where journeys begin, the campaign explores the intimacy of traveling together through the creative lens of Anthony Seklaoui. Stills capture the fleeting spirit of Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny's airport stroll, redefining the Jet Set glamour of the 1990s."

Does this campaign count as a relationship hard launch?

Sarah Burton presented her last collection as Alex Sarah Burton presented her last collection as Alexander McQueen's creative director during Paris Fashion Week this Saturday. Naomi campbell closed the show in a stunning silver dress!

Burton's tenure as creative director for Alexander McQueen has been remarkable, spanning an impressive 26 years. Her ability to maintain the brand's distinctive blend of beauty and edge is noteworthy.

Burton became creative director in 2010 after the tragic loss of Lee Alexander McQueen. As the only female creative director in Kering's fashion portfolio, her contributions have been significant, and her departure, in our opinion leaves a big gap in a house with a very deep and unique brand dna.

Any thoughts on who will be the next McQueen creative director?
