By any standard, the 365 days that made up 2016 were really, really bad. Putting aside the horrific results of the election, there were multiple celebrity deaths. And not just of well-known people who passed away from old age, but culture-shaping artists whose heartbreaking deaths were in no way anticipated.
Friend Dog Studios as led by the comedy trio of Brian Huther, Ben Auxier, and Seth Macchi have created “2016: The Movie,” a trailer that recaps the year in the form of a horror movie trailer. Lowlights include the death of Harambe, exploding phones and even a Jason who wears a Cheeto-colored, Trump-shaped mask.
The crazy thing is one has to guess the video was probably wrapped before the deaths of George Michael and Carrie Fisher, forcing the studio to add in mention of their deaths.
The scariest part? That the ringing in of the new year doesn’t mean the horribleness comes to an end.
