Prison Bae AKA Jeremy Meeks Makes His NYFW Runway Debut

February 14, 2017. Leave a Comment

Jeremy Meeks, affectionately known as Prison Bae, has come a very long way since his pretty face became a trending topic two years ago. Arrested for gun possession in California, Meeks’ striking blue eyes and perfect bone structure captured in his mugshot turned him into a social media sensation. On the downside, the now 32-year old father of three had to serve time and be away from his wife and children, but on the plus side, he signed on with a modeling agency.

Yesterday, Meeks took on his splashiest modeling assignment to date, appearing on the runway for Italian label Phillipp Plein‘s debut New York Fashion Week presentation. He wasn’t the only celebrity to appear, the runway also included appearances by rapper Fetty Wap, Sofia Richie, Young Thug and Desiigner. Backstage, Meeks was shot hanging with chic Parisian editor and stylist, Carine Roitfeld.

Posting an Instagram image shot in Washington Square Park, Meeks thanked his manager and his agency, White Cross Management. While he may be walking runways, Meeks is taken and recently announced his eighth anniversary with his wife.

Check out some images and video below.

Music was provided by violinist Jennifer Koh, who performed “Einstein on the Beach” by Philip Glass.

In the show notes, Jacobs included the following quote from Westwood: “Fashion is life-enhancing, and I think it’s a lovely, generous thing to do for other people.”
