Of Course Rihanna Was The First To Wear Those Saint Laurent Boots

March 6, 2017. 3 Comments

When an item appears on the fashion landscape that creates a lot of buzz like Saint Laurent’s Swarovski crystal slouch boots did, it’s always interesting to watch which celeb is able to nab said item before it hits retail. Not surprisingly, Rihanna was spotted wearing the boots in Paris within days of them being shown on the runway. She posted up a runway photo of the boots on her Instagram stating she was “obsessed” and poof, in her next image, she was spotted wearing them.

For women’s fashion, we can think of no star who lands those “phresh off the runway” pieces with as great frequency as Rihanna does, and there are two reasons she’s able to get the “it” items before everyone else. First, she’s a powerful influencer and what she wears drives actual sales, but just as importantly, she has a great eye for what is popping and picks and chooses carefully. As such, while a million things may be thrown at her, she only wears what keeps her at the top of the fashion mountain and the top designers in the game love and respect her for that.

She paired the boots with a Raf Simons Patti Smith t-shirt and a Schott leather jacket. We can’t identify all the accessory pieces in the close up image, but we do see a cameo ring by Jacquie Aiche, an accessory designer Rihanna really loves.

FYI: Rihanna will show her third collection with Puma today in Paris at 3:00 PM ESt.

Designed for women, Lility NYC takes its name from a mythological character who has been described as the wife of Adam in early texts.

Lilith NYC’s debut silhouette is called Caudal Lure, a form of mimicry used by snakes to lure prey using their tails akin to how sneaker lovers flex their kicks. The name is referenced through the shoe’s super-sized Vibram outsole, designed to resembles a snake’s tail.

Lilith’s debut Caudal Lure sneaker is now available for pre-order on lilith.nyc.
