Singer/songwriter SZA has revealed a new ‘do on Instagram, leaving behind her famously-lionesque mane for a a headful of summery-looking braids. Is she going for a more streamlined look in preparation for the launch of her album? Perhaps so.
In a recent interview, she described CTRL‘s arrival as imminent. “I don’t know if I’m supposed to tell you that,” she told Nylon in a question about the album’s timing, “but it’s supposed to be, like, ridiculously soon.”
In keeping with the theme of the first single off the album, “Drew Barrymore,” all of CTRL’s song titles will be named after actresses. Perhaps hinting at the names, SZA listed some of her movies in the same interview. “Scarface for the hair, Blow for Penélope [Cruz]’s hair,” said SZA, “Every Spike Lee film literally, just because the cinematography is so good and it’s so brilliant, and the scoring. I feel like I’ve watched Godfather with my dad a billion times. I love that movie. Eyes Wide Shut, I love that, too.”
