After a short break from dropping new music, Bia aka Perico Princess aka Bianca Landrau storms back with two new tracks, released through Pharrell’s i am Other imprint with RCA. For the trap-banger “Badside,” Bia linked with producer Cardo, and for “Fungshway,” the Boston-born rapper handled the production.
Now touring in the United Kingdom with Ariana Grande, Bia recently spoke with VladTV about the challenges of performing trap music, a genre dominated by men, and overcoming a stigma that dictates that attractive women not use a gutter vocabulary.
She also discussed working with reggaetone artist J.Balvin and Pharrell on the mega-hit single “Safari,” and how it opened her up to recording more Latin-flavored music. “Me doing the Latin music inspired me to do more,” said Bia, “I want to create something that hasn’t been done before.”
