Comme des Garçons Comme des Garçons has revealed its lookbook for its fall 2017 ready-to-wear collection. While the label’s avante garde pieces may grab most of the oxygen in the room, its the CDG CDG label that exists to dress the individuals who worship the label aka the art school students at heart lifers.
While there’s a certain predictability to CDG CDG’s distinct, old-timey, yet futuristic, uniform-themed grey and black separates (one could argue a justifiable/needed feedback loop on Japan’s never-ending obsessions with schoolgirl uniforms), this fall’s offerings are refreshed through a small grouping featuring stripes and another, delicate florals (subbing in for last year’s punker plaids).
Side note: As respected as designer Rei Kawakubo is for its artistry and influence, the fact that she consistently chooses models of pale hues is wack.
