Last night marked the 43rd year of the CFDA Awards, held at the Museum of Natural History in New York City. Rachel Scott won the Womenswear Designer of the Year award for her Diotima label, established in 2021, making her the first Black woman to receive this honor.
Other big designer winners of the evening included Willy Chavarria, who took home the Menswear Designer of the Year award; Raul Lopez, who won Accessory Designer of the Year for Luar; and Henry Zankov, who received the Google Shopping Emerging Designer of the Year award for his brand, Zankov.
Michael Kors was honored with the Positive Change Award, while Annie Leibovitz received the Media Award in honor of Eugenia Sheppard.
The Board of Directors’ Tribute went to Isabel Toledo, with her husband, Ruben Toledo, accepting the award on her behalf. Amy Griffin presented the International Award to Daniel Roseberry of Schiaparelli, and the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Stephen Burrows by Donna Karan and Todd Oldham.
