Nicki Minaj And Nas Spark Up Rumor Mill With Cozy Photo

May 10, 2017. Leave a Comment

Nicki Minaj this morning (May 10, 2017) posted up a photo of herself and Queens rapper Nas, looking very cozy at a New York restaurant. Naturally, there has been rampant speculation as to whether the two are a pair to the point where the topic was trending all morning on Twitter.

It should be noted that they were photographed at the Manhattan location of Sweet Chicks, a popular (and dope) chicken and waffles restaurant. This is significant because until recently, Sweet Chicks was limited to two New York locations, but as part of plans to expand nationally, it brought in Nas as an investor. It opened its first outpost in Los Angeles in April 2017.

In Minaj’s caption, she wrote “@sweetchicklife has the best food 👅 congrats Nas,” which we guess is a reference to Nas’s new involvement in the restaurant.

There’s an outside chance she’s also referencing a Grammy award that appeared in another image posted by Statik Selektah, who was at the table with Nas and Minaj. Following tags, it appears the Emmy belongs to production company Sweet Grass, which took home the award at a sports-themed Grammy awards on May 9, 2017. As such, it appears Minaj and Nas were having a fun night out celebrating both Nas’s new business and a friend’s Grammy award.

Why would Nas invite Minaj? Probably it’s not about a new relationship, but because they’re working on new music together. After all, that’s been the pattern for Minaj. She posts a photo of herself with a male rapper on Instagram (Drake, Lil Wayne, Gucci, Future) and not long after a song is announced.

Besides, she just got out of two concurrent, long term relationships. The idea that she would dive right back into a relationship with a rapper who’s known for his ho ways doesn’t seem likely at this point in time. Make note: Nas didn’t return the favor and post an image of Minaj on his own page.

And one could see how Minaj would loooove to work with Nas. He’s a legend for starters, but it would be a nice swipe at Remy Ma, who used his beat from “Ether” in her Minaj take down “Shether.” In other words, Ma jumped on a Nas beat (which his record company, Universal, won’t let her distribute), meanwhile Minaj is chilling with the Nasty Nas by her side, making new music.

Only KINGS recognize QUEENS. @sweetchicklife has the best food 👅 congrats @nas 😜
