Vogue has announced plans to extend the reach of CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund by linking MAC Cosmetics with five prior CVFF finalists on a collaborative makeup capsule. Participants included in the project are Tome, Tanya Taylor, Cushnie et Ochs, Juan Carlos Obando, and Chromat, each of which will develop a proposal for a six-piece makeup collection.
Last week at the MAC Pro New York showroom, the designers were provided with some of the basics of makeup design and were also paired with a MAC makeup artist, who will work with the designers on formulas, finishes and shades. Part of the package will also include instruction on packaging design and marketing.
A panel of judges will choose one proposal to go into production, an award that will include $50,000 and distribution of the makeup at MAC stores.
