Balenciaga Offers Wild Plush Toys For Adoption At Colette Pop Up

July 25, 2017. Leave a Comment

As part of Balenciaga‘s take over at Colette, the label has mixed in some special items with its fall 2017 offerings, which includes a collection of plush toys.

Members of the menagerie include Koko the chimpanzee, there’s also Bendy the giraffe, Goran the Gorilla, and a sloth who shall remain nameless, plus from the North, Arka the polar bear and Charly the penguin (both of whom were forced to migrate to Paris because their igloos melted from global warming–sad!)

The adoption fee to take home each plush is $145-$190 with each animal clothed in a mini-Balenciaga t-shirt. All but Koko is now sold out on colette.fr, though the store might still be housing additional plushies.

If they are indeed all gone, we can take solace in knowing they all found homes!

The Balenciaga and Colette pop-up shop in Paris opened on June 19, 2017 and will run through August 5th.

Visit colette.fr for more info.

Part of his debut collection with the retailer, the men's "giant fit" chino priced at 89.50 is 100% sold out! Relecting the popularity of the silhouette, the women's wide-leg pleated cargo is also sold out.

With wider fits and chino swinging back into popularity, we can't help but wonder what sneakers and shoes will be coming along for the ride. Any nominations?

The GOAT Serena Williams says farewell to her care The GOAT Serena Williams says farewell to her career as a professional tennis player in the September issue of American Vogue.

In the cover story, which is a must read, Williams shares some thoughts on her evolution away from tennis and says,"Believe me, I never wanted to have to choose between tennis and a family. I don’t think it’s fair. If I were a guy, I wouldn’t be writing this because I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife was doing the physical labor of expanding our family. Maybe I’d be more of a Tom Brady if I had that opportunity. Don’t get me wrong: I love being a woman, and I loved every second of being pregnant with Olympia. I was one of those annoying women who adored being pregnant and was working until the day I had to report to the hospital—although things got super complicated on the other side. And I almost did do the impossible: A lot of people don’t realize that I was two months pregnant when I won the Australian Open in 2017."

The cover editorial was styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, who in 2020 became the first black woman to style a U.S. Vogue cover.

This cover was also one of the last projects hairstylist #LatishaChong worked on before she sadly passed away in July this year.
