C2H4 Shows Collection Of Futuristic Workwear Featuring Kappa Collaboration

July 14, 2017. Leave a Comment

Showing at New York Fashion Week for menswear, Los Angeles-based C2H4 showed a runway themed on futuristic unisex workwear.

Titled “Zero Gravity,” the collection was described in press as “laboratory workwear for a group of chemists in the year 2082. Los Angeled-based designer [Yixi Chen’s] 2082 laboratory visualization is expressed through these costumes, which are adjusted to cope with the meticulous lifestyle of the chemists encountered in Mars. The pieces are saturated-monochromatic color schemes that boast accents of cool blue, dynamic red and urban yellow. C2H4 presents garments, which defy gravity.”

The runway was opened by Luka Sabbat and included a collaboration with sport lifestyle brand Kappa. If this is the future, we can say with confidence there will be pockets and things hanging.

Noah founder and J Crew men's creative director Br Noah founder and J Crew men's creative director Brendon Babenzien has a certified hit on his hands. Part of his debut collection with the retailer, the men's "giant fit" chino priced at 89.50 is 100% sold out! Relecting the popularity of the silhouette, the women's wide-leg pleated cargo is also sold out.

With wider fits and chino swinging back into popularity, we can't help but wonder what sneakers and shoes will be coming along for the ride. Any nominations?

The GOAT Serena Williams says farewell to her care The GOAT Serena Williams says farewell to her career as a professional tennis player in the September issue of American Vogue.

In the cover story, which is a must read, Williams shares some thoughts on her evolution away from tennis and says,"Believe me, I never wanted to have to choose between tennis and a family. I don’t think it’s fair. If I were a guy, I wouldn’t be writing this because I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife was doing the physical labor of expanding our family. Maybe I’d be more of a Tom Brady if I had that opportunity. Don’t get me wrong: I love being a woman, and I loved every second of being pregnant with Olympia. I was one of those annoying women who adored being pregnant and was working until the day I had to report to the hospital—although things got super complicated on the other side. And I almost did do the impossible: A lot of people don’t realize that I was two months pregnant when I won the Australian Open in 2017."

The cover editorial was styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, who in 2020 became the first black woman to style a U.S. Vogue cover.

This cover was also one of the last projects hairstylist #LatishaChong worked on before she sadly passed away in July this year.
