Italian label MSGM, founded seven years ago by Massimo Giorgetti, has announced plans to add women’s offerings to second collaborative effort with sport label Diadora. The two brands first worked together on a capsule first revealed on MSGM’s fall 2017 menswear runway.
Launching in spring 2018, the next collaborative collection takes inspiration from late ’70s tennis apparel, a period when there was a boom in activewear fabric innovation. In the case of the women’s tracksuit MSGM teased today (July 6, 2017), it’s composed of triacetate and features a metallic laminated canvas.
In addition to apparel, the collaborative collection will include two version of Diadora’s B.Elite and MI Basket archival sneakers, both of which will feature the dates 1948 and 2009, the founding years of each company.
As for the labels’ fall menswear collection, items will arrive at approximately 100 stores this month. Retailers include Saks Fifth Avenue (New York), Le Bon Marché (Paris), Excelsior (Milan), Galeries Lafayette (Hong Kong), Club 21 (Singapore) and Tsum (Moscow).
