Vetements’ Designer Demna Gvasalia and Tommy Hilfiger Confirm Spring Collabo Is Happening

July 3, 2017. Leave a Comment

Following the presentation of a spring 2018 collection that was styled with a Tommy Hilfiger hoodie, Vetements designer Demna Gvasalia ginned up talk of a possible collaboration with a cropped image of a  Vetements and Tommy Hilfiger logo sweatshirt with a hashtag confirming the collaboration.

Designer Tommy Hilfiger also confirmed the pairing, telling WWD, “I was very excited. What they’ve done is quite genius. They have their own rule book. They do what they want and do it when and how they want.”

Having tapped mega-model Gigi Hadid  as both the face of his brand and a design partner, tapping into the cool factor of Vetements was not lost on Hilfiger. “We agreed to it because we think it’s such a cool brand and think it will be an incredible collaboration. The fact that a disruptive designer like Demna [Gvasalia] would want to do something with our brand is a tremendous compliment,” he noted.

The one season spring 2018 collection will include streetwear basics like hoodies, t-shirts, beanies and socks anchored on colors heather gray, navy, red and fuchsia. Prices will range go from $1,19o for a hoodie to $120 for socks.

Offerings will drop in February 2018 and will be carried at Barneys, Harrods and Colette.
