Tokyo label Thibaut is causing quite the commotion with a spring 2018 runway presentation that included a pair of thong jeans, which perhaps more accurately could be describe as a denim garter belt.
Shown during Tokyo Fashion Week, Thibaut’s denim as designed by Meiko Ban takes the distressed jean trend to an extreme with the pants’ front and back cut out, leaving behind only the seams.
While Thibaut’s looks may be the most revealing of them all, there have been other versions of this trend, including designs shown by Y/Project, World of Nandi and Left Hand, whose legless jeans also grabbed the spotlight when Kendall Jenner wore a pair earlier this year.
Rapper and singer Azealia Banks was quick to point out that in February 2017, she attended a Paris Fashion Week wearing wore a pair of thong denim shorts.
