Brooklyn-based artist KAWS aka Brian Donnelly and his spouse, Julia Chiang, who is also an artist, invited Architectural Digest into their Brooklyn home for a spread featured in the magazine’s December 2017 issue.
Donnelly and Chang share their home with their two children as well as some eye-popping artwork and furniture. Located in Williamsburg, the building is described as triangle shaped and is located a short distance away from Donnelly’s studio.
Among some of the more amazing pieces in the apartment are a KAWS BFF homage chair made by Fernando and Humberto Campan, plus there is work by Raymond Pettibon, Takashi Murakami and a big mural by Keith Haring. And that’s just what’s on display. Some items are in storage and others are on loan to exhibitions
“I don’t buy art to put in specific places,” said Donnelly on the collection. “I just collect what I love and hope to find a place for it to be visible.”
