American designer Virgil Abloh lands the cover of System magazine’s 10th issue, coverage that includes exchanges with the Off-White designer and art curator Hans Ulrich Obrist as well as architect Rem Koolhaas, who has long been an inspiration for Abloh.
In addition to interviews, the magazine traveled to IKEA in Sweden in June and October 2017 to check out the furniture company’s collaboration with Abloh.
Images provided by System reveal a red-colored rug labeled “blue” and also a sketch of a ceiling lighting system plus what looks like a Lucite and wood storage system. There’s also a sketch that hints at the categories included in the collaboration, which include seating, bedding, tables, lighting and storage.
Last month, IKEA and Abloh revealed a grey rug detailed with the graphic “get off.”
System magazine is available to purchase on November 16th exclusively at Dover Street Market in London and New York, Colette in Paris, and 10 Corso Como in Milan.
