HM Launches Nicki Minaj’s 12-Piece Holiday 2017 Collection

December 4, 2017. 1 Comment

HM’s holiday collection with Nicki Minaj has hit retail, along with some fun campaign images and video. The 12-piece capsule is very Minaj-inspired and includes items like a fitted dress, an over-sized hoodie, a pink faux fur cropped jacket with a unicorn embroidered on the back, a black pleated skirt, a kimono and of course, a top featuring Minaj’s likeness.

In support of the collection, H&M shot a video featuring Minaj playing the role of a little girl’s mother. The girl’s dad, played by Jesse Williams, steps into tell a story that plays out in the little’s girl imagination. Directed by Johan-Renchke, the video also includes appearances by actor John Turturro and model Ming Xi.

Minaj also participated in a round of “this or that,” which include her thoughts on rappers who use ghost writers.

Big parties or small gatherings?
“For the holidays, I love to have intimate parties with my family and close friends.”

“Jingle Bells” or “Christmas in Hollis”?
“Christmas in Hollis for obvious reasons.”

Bad Santas or bad bitches?
“Bad bitches run the world.”

Gold, Frankincense or Myrrh?
“I’ll take all three for 500, Alex.”

Christmas dinner at the White House or a home-cooked meal in Queens?
“This one is easy. A home-cooked meal in Queens is heaven for me.”

Ugly Christmas sweaters or sexy Santa dresses?
“Sexy Santa dresses, of course. You can do the ugly sweaters when you’re dead.”

The ghost of Christmas past or rappers with ghostwriters?
“If you have a ghostwriter, you’re not a rapper. You’re pretending to be.”

Giving or receiving presents?
“I love to give!”

New Year’s resolutions or no New Year’s resolutions?
“It’s always good to set well-thought-out, big goals. Even at the tippy top of the year. Can’t hurt.”

Date, marry or make disappear forever: Rudolf, Santa or Frosty the Snowman?
“I’d marry Santa to help him choose and wrap gifts for the kids each year. I’d make Frosty the Snowman disappear ‘cos my wrist is already icy. Frozen. I would date Rudolf because he can always give me a ride to where I’m going.”

Items range in price from $12.99 for socks to $69.99 for the faux fur jacket.
