As led by sisters Alana and Stevie Pallister, Australia-based I.AM.GIA is winning over fashion lovers through stylish, sport-infused collections that won’t break the bank. Founded in May 2017, the labels is a favorite among models and has received co-signs by the likes of Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski and Sita Abellan.
The label’s current retail strategy is a monthly drop of about 30 pieces, a lot of which sells out not long after it goes live. One of its most famous pieces is its cozy Pixie jacket, priced at $84. Reflecting its feel for tapping into just under-the-bubble looks, the label is taking pre-orders for its Electra pants ($135), which perfectly blending retro track pant and motocross themes.
The label takes its name from Gia Carangi, who died of AIDS-related complications at the age 26. Alana Pallister spoke about the name choice in a recent interview with InStyle magazine. “When someone asks me to explain Gia, I’m like, three words: She’s a badass. A very powerful, strong, independent badass,” she explained.
