Collina Strada designer Hillary Taymour likes a good theme for her presentations, and titled her fall 2018 collection “Sologomy,” a response to all the social upheaval as of late that takes the position of loving oneself rather than focusing on others.
Chic yet funky offerings included animal print tracksuits, velour robes and jackets, sheer organza blouses and trousers, with a diverse cast taking on the role of wedding guests, there to witness a cargo pants clad bride marry herself as a statement on valuing oneself above all else.
Expanding on the show’s theme of love, Strada told Fashionista, “There’s so much hate on Instagram right now with things like #timesup, and I get it. We can’t not acknowledge any of that, but also, let’s deal with the problem within ourselves first. Let’s turn back to love. I hope someone goes and reads about their higher self after this and finds out what it is if they didn’t know before. Or at least meditates for five minutes.”
