A rising star in China, designer Angel Chen linked with artist Miju Kim to create a whimsy-infused collection for fall 2018. Underpinned by performance fabrics and streetwear-themed silhouettes, garments were elevated through touches of faux fur and sequins with 3D embroidered details provided by Kim.
In a press statement, Chen commented on the escapist nature of the collection, writing, “The collection creates an imaginary world based on the designer’s picturesque dream of a brand-new kind of nature, built with a vibrant palette of color and visual wonder. A world made purely from illusions where the ocean meets the sky, the sun transforms into a golden phoenix abreast with the moon, and the white petals and corals are conjointly glittering deep under the ocean.”
Angel Chen is currently stocked, at Urban Outfitters in the United Kingdom, H. Lorenzo and Luisaviaroma, among others.
