Bronx rapper Cardi B attended the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday (March 11, 2018) where she performed and was tapped as best new artist. During the acceptance speech for the award, she let it be known her album is coming in April.
Wearing a Christian Siriano-designed party dress with a full tulle skirt to accept her award, Cardi told the audience, “My album will be coming in April. Okurr? Yessir. April. Stay tuned, muthafuck…uh-owww!”
During the event, Cardi also performed a medley of her hits, spitting verses from “Bartier Cardi,” “Bodack Yellow,” and “No Limit” (which included a G-Eazy assist), along with “Motor Sport” and “Finesse.” For the performance she wore a black Moschino leather and tulle dress. Both looks were styled by Kollin Carter.
Given the voluminous mid-section for both outfits, neither had the affect of tamping down rumors Cardi is pregnant, a rumor she denied on Instagram in early February, telling a speculating fan, “No bitch I’m just getting fat. Let me fat in peace.”
The album was initially planned for an October 2017 drop, but Cardi pushed it out, admitting she felt she was under a lot of pressure and wanted to take her time and get it right. “Every single time I think I got all the 10 songs I’m like, I’m buggin’,” she said during a September visit to The Breakfast Club. “These ain’t it. It’s just like, damn I’m competing with myself.”
