Off-White is jumping into the eyewear space in a big way with a planned collection with Sunglass Hut, a global retailer with over 2,000 retail locations worldwide.
The collection will include three unisex frames: described as retro, clean and angular, a collection that saw its debut on Off-White’s Paris Fashion Week runway.
“I’ve always thought of sunglasses as an important accessory in a fashion context,” Off-White designer Virgil Abloh told WWD. “It’s a small object that can give you the nuances of a brand’s opinion on design. For me, I was looking to incorporate classic shapes from the past with a youthful modern elegance. All lenses are flat, which gives each style the same edge.”
Off-White offers sunglasses on its website and collaborated with Warby Parker on a three-silhouette capsule last year. The scale of Off-White’s effort with Sunglass is much wider and will bring Off-White to entirely new locations globally.
The Off-White x Sunglass Hut styles are priced at $179 and will release on sunglasshut.com on March 20, 2018. The collection will be available at Off-White and Sunglass Hut retail starting on March 26th in the United Kingdom and April 10th in the United States.
