Vancouver-based Tommy Genesis taps into the old school flavor of the Wild West in a visual for “Lucky,” a self directed visual. In a break from the stark sound of her last single, “Tommy,” the reggae-toned “Lucky” takes a more laid back approach.
Recently Genesis has pushed back on the description of her as a rapper, indicating to Noisey that her album’s sound will be eclectic. “Every song on the album is a different genre,” she wrote in an email. “This is my No Doubt album. There’s no rules. I just made what I wanted.”
In addition to working on her album, Genesis recently supported Dua Lipa on some of her North American tour dates.
