XXL’s 2018 Tenth Spot Nominees Includes 17 Women

March 30, 2018. 4 Comments

XXL magazine has chosen nine of the ten rappers that will appear on its upcoming 2018 “Freshman Class” issue. Voting is now open for music fans to choose the rapper to win the 10th spot on the coveted cover.

This year’s nominees include 17 women including some of our hometown faves, 070 Shake, Chynna Rogers, Leikeli47, Maliibu Mitch, Dream Doll and Princess Nokia. We say vote early and often for all the women on the list (link to vote is here). The polls will be open until April 1, 2018 at 12:00 AM EST.

It’s worth noting there were 11 female nominees on last year’s list but only Oakland-based rapper Kamaiyah made the final cut (on a list that included Cardi B!). Additional rappers on the “Freshman Class” 2017 cover were A-Boogie wit da Hoodie, Aminé, Kao G, Kyle, Madein TYO, Playboi Carti, PnB Rock, Ugly God and tenth spot winner, XXXTentacion.

Check out the nominees below; some have pitch videos and some do not.
