Meghan Markle Wears Givenchy Gown In Royal Wedding

May 19, 2018. Leave a Comment

The royal family if nothing else knows pageantry! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry wed today (May 19, 2018)  at Saint Georges chapel at Windsor Chapel in England. Prince Charles walked Markle down the aisle.

Their official title as husband and wife is the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Markle wore a haute couture Givenchy wedding dress, designed by British designer Clare Waight Keller. According to press issued by Kensington Palace, Markle’s veil included flora representing each of the 53 countries making up the Commonwealth.

Her veil was held in place by Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara, which was lent by the Queen. According to press, “The diamond bandeau is English and was made in 1932, with the entre brooch dating from 1893.”

As for the all-important ring, it was made from Welsh gold, gifted by the Queen. Prince Harry’s was composed of platinum.

Some of the more well-known guests included Oprah Winfrey, Amal and George Clooney, and Victoria and David Beckham.
