Met Gala 2018: Who’s Attending And What They’re Wearing

May 7, 2018. 2 Comments

Met Gala’s 2018 event is titled “Heavenly Bodies,” a theme examining the intersection of the Catholic church and fashion. The exquisite gown shown here is Dior haute coutre 2005/2006 and it was designed by John Galliano, who himself was raised in a strict Catholic household.

This is a theme that is very much in the wheelhouse of European design houses because it is of their DNA and as such, they understand it and are less likely to make clumsy statements or conversely, feel hemmed in by the fear they might make offend.

For this year’s gala, red carpet arrivals at the Metropolitan Museum of Art begin at 6:30 PM EST. The event will be hosted by Amal Clooney, Rihanna, Donatella Versace and Anna Wintour.

Check out the list of confirmed attendees in alphabetical order below. If we know what label they’re wearing, we put it in parenthesis.

Guests who are confirmed as attending are Adwoa Aboah (Marc Jacobs), Adut Akech, Lily Aldridge (Ralph Lauren), Hailey Baldwin (Tommy Hilfiger), Cardi B, Mary J Blige, Chadwick Boseman, Kate Bosworth, Gisele Bündchen, Alexa Chung, Amal Clooney (Richard Quinn), George Clooney, Lily Collins (Prabal Gurung), Priyanka Chopra, Cindy Crawford (Versace), Miley Cyrus (Stella McCartney), Poppy Delevingne, Lana Del Rey, Andreea Diaconu, Diplo, Jourdan Dunn, Kaia Gerber, Presley Gerber, Donald Glover, Selena Gomez (Coach), Eiza Gonzalez (Prabal Gurung), Ashley Graham (Prabal Gurung), Ariana Grande, Anwar Hadid, Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid (Versace), Tiffany Haddish (Brandon Maxwell), Lewis Hamilton (Tommy Hilfiger), Imaan Hammam, Winnie Harlow (Tommy Hilfiger), Anne Hathaway, Amber Heard, Taylor Hill, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Kendall Jenner (Off-White), Kylie Jenner, Kris Jenner (Tommy Hilfiger), Paris Jackson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Nick Jonas, Mindy Kaling (Vassilis Zoulais), Kim Kardashian, Riley Keough, Wiz Khalifa, Karlie Kloss, Solange Knowles, Zoë Kravitz (Balenciaga), Doutzen Kroes (Sies Marjan), Diane Kruger Prabal Gurung), Sasha Lane (Tory Burch), Jennifer Lopez (Balmain), Jared Leto (Gucci), Blake Lively (Versace), Madonna, Stella Maxwell, Shawn Mendes, Sienna Miller, Migos (Versace), Nicki Minaj (Oscar de la Renta), Janelle Monae, Kate Moss (Saint Laurent), Rita Ora, Deepika Padukone (Prabal Gurung), Sarah Paulson (Miu Miu), Katy Perry, Natasha Poly, Issa Rae, Emily Ratajkowski, A$AP Rocky (Prada), Anja Rubik (Saint Laurent), Luka Sabbat, Jasmine Sanders (H&M), Amy Schumer, Amanda Seyfried, Yara Shahidi (Chanel), Irina Shayk, Troye Sivan (Valentino), Alexander Skarsgard (Chanel), Joan Smalls (Tommy Hilfiger), Hailee Steinfeld (Prabla Gurung), Emma Stone (Louis Vuitton), Travis Scott, Hailee Steinfeld, Emma Stone, Fei Fei Sun (Tory Burch), SZA, Anya Taylor-Joy, Uma Thurman, Sophie Turner, Gabrielle Union (Prabal Gurung), Kate Upton, Naomi Watts, Amber Valletta, Alicia Vikander (Louis Vuitton), Talita von Fürstenberg, Pharrell Williams (Chanel), Anna Wintour (Chanel), Letitia Wright (Coach), Ming Xi (Prabal Gurung) and Zendaya.

Noteworthy individuals who are not attending: Beyoncé, Kate Blanchett, Lady Gaga, Kristen Stewart and Kanye West.

Allegedly, Beyoncé had planned to attend wearing a Dundas gown, but opted out at the least minute to go on vacation instead. The idea was spurred by her husband, Jay-Z, who thought it would be better for her to take time off before the start of their “On the Run II” tour, which kicks off on June 6, 2018, in Cardiff, England. Naturally, the change in plans has the mostly anti-Jay Beyhive once again irritated with him.

Prior to working at US Vogue in 2010, Nnadi held editorial roles at The Fader and Trace.

In press about the appointment, Nnadi shared, I’m beyond excited and honored to have been appointed as British Vogue’s head of editorial content. As someone who was born and raised in London, the energy of the city, its boundary-pushing style and creative scene, has shaped the way I look at the world."

She added, "Now, more than ever, it feels like a moment to look beyond borders while also celebrating the broad scope of what it means to be British. I’m looking forward to engaging a loyal and inspired digital community that is energised by our access, point of view, and storytelling.”

Congratulations, Chioma!!
