In advance of the launch date, Rihanna’s Savage Fenty lingerie line has begun releasing a series of short videos featuring models and personalities.
Clips include Rihanna herself, as well as models Lulu B, Sahara Lin, Audrey Ritchi, Leomie Anderson and Stella Duval.
In some of the videos, the models provides views on their bodies. Stella Duval states, “I’m Stella Duval. If I’m shooting something, I’m seriously hyped as sexy so if I’m doing a test shoot or something like that, they’ll want me to take my top off. I feel like I can do more than that. I’m more than…of course I love being sexy and I’m totally open to nudity and I love that, but I’m not just that.”
While using a cast of women representing a range of body sizes is no longer a new concept, the idea of handing the models the mic to discuss their views on their physiques as they intersect with the world is a fresh concept and further promulgates the notion of models as humans rather than just mannequins.
While yes, it’s just campaign to sell panties and bras, it also happens that the theme is very much aligned with Rihanna’s worldview, which is all about promoting women as more than just physical beings, powerful as people in and of themselves.
First announced on April 20, 2018, the range will be available globally and includes bras made in sizes 32A-42DD and panties ranging is size form XS-3X.
Look for the collection to drop on May 11, 2018.
