Known for working with fine knits, designer Victor Glemaud hosted his first fashion presentation in New York on Monday (June 4, 2018) with a collection titled “L’Origine.”
As contrasted against earthy pillows and stools and a dramatic striped backdrop, the collection exuded energy and optimism with a palette inspired by the colors of Haiti, Glemaud’s place of birth. Offerings ranged from a colorblock bikini, brightly-striped separates and easy-breezy three-quarter length dresses.
Models wore jelly sandals (once a Haitian footwear mainstay) with headwear created in collaboration with Gigi Burris Millinery and Dot Haiti.
