Atlanta rapper LightSkinKeisha releases the music video for “Believe Dat,” a rump-shaker appropriately shot in Atlanta’s famed Magic City strip club. Produced by Wili Hendrix, the track samples Juvenile’s famed “Back that Azz Up” single, which dropped (literally) in 1999.
In a recent interview, Kisha expressed her appreciation for the New Orleans-born Juvenile’s influence on her sound. “When I was younger, I listened to a lot of Juvenile, so I had to do this record and I’m really excited at the fact that people love it,” she told Fader.
On the visual, she added, “I’m the first female rapper out of Atlanta to shoot a video in Magic City, and you know, I’m honored because everybody can’t do that. I thank them so much for letting me. Every time I come in there it’s nothing but love, so I had to show some love back. If Magic City stamps you then you’re really locked in ’cause they don’t just let anybody come in and shoot videos, but they let me and for that I love them. Shout out to Magic City and the whole Magic City family.”
Enjoy “Believe Dat” below and stay tuned for Keisha’s debut album Honey Period, set to drop sometime this year.
