Located in the quickly developing H Street Corridor neighborhood of Washington, D.C., Atlanta-based streetwear retailer has opened their second location. In addition to the 2,400 square foot store, they’ve extended their talents to hospitality offering a one-bedroom and two-bedroom suite above the store to be rented like a hotel with the comforts of a really well done Airbnb.
I arrived at A Ma Maniere Friday afternoon (July 27, 2018) from a breakfast work session at The Line DC to check-in to my two night stay. I was greeted with a personalized picture collage in magnetic, movable frames above the kitchen island next to fresh flowers from the team.
Once the concierge Gabby walked me through the 1,500-square foot, two bedroom, two-bathroom suite with a lofted second bedroom and full patio-sized balcony, she gave me a quick smart home 101 on the suite’s smart home system allowing me to control the music, TVs, lighting, and door locks.
After throwing together a playlist full of Brent Faiyaz, Frank Ocean, The Internet, and Thundercat, I sat down at the Snarkitecture x Pentatronic coffee table and knocked out some emails before I got to see head to see DMV native, Goldlink, play his second of three sold out shows in town that week.
Throughout the weekend I had friends that used to live in D.C., friends that currently live in D.C., and a few industry contacts in town stop by for a drink and to check out my impressively decorated and extremely convenient weekend home. A lot of time was spent in the space because of it’s sheer size and comforts. This is definitely a destination. Two blocks away, the highly recommended Maketto worked for dinner on one night while less than half a mile in the opposite direction on H Street a brand new Whole Foods was a quick stop for snacks, beer, and wine to entertain with.
If you’re going to D.C. and maybe don’t want to spend every night there on U Street but definitely want to hang with friends, A Ma Maniere is a great option with a huge, attractive indoor and outdoor space as options to kick it in. The suites will go from $500 to $2000 a night and will be able to be booked through a custom portal on the store’s website.
A Ma Maniere DC officially opened on Friday July 27th. It’s located at 1214 H Street NE, Washington DC. I you’re interested in staying in one of the suites, drop a line to info@a-ma-maniere.com.
