Los Angeles–based creative Sami Miró is known for her eye for vintage, a skill set that’s opened client styling gigs with some of the most influential celebs in the game including Selena Gomez, Jhené Aiko and Rihanna among others. Earlier this year, Nike and Nordstrom tapped into her design talent with a well-received collaborative capsule sold exclusively at Nordstrom Melrose.
Miró has expanded on her styling efforts and upcycled vintage-offerings with the debut of fashion label EcoTerror, a name inspired by a ’60s-era environmental movement.
The line made its debut at ComplexCon where Miró’s booth reflected her progressive politics. On Instagram she wrote, “We built an art instillation capturing educated environmental quotes from global leaders like Bernie Sandies, Jacques Cousteau, Francois Holland, and Ban Ki-moon and compared them to ignoramus tweets from Trump and framed photos of melting ice caps and air pollution engulfed in recycled plastic and waste ♻️ What you see is what you get with me and it’s so important that my brand reflects my beliefs.”
Offerings are made from a combination of deadstock fabric and vintage denim that Miró sourced in Los Angeles. And don’t get it twisted, while the line may be eco-friendly it’s not about Bohemia but rather is sexy with a twist, as epitomized by a faux denim print groupings that includes a suit jacket, plus a tank top, mini-skirt and dress.
Items are priced from $95 for tank tops up to $698 for a blazer and are now available for pre-order on samimiro.com. The line will also be carried by select retailers in New York and Los Angeles.
