Parents Kehlani and Javie Young-White celebrated the impending birth of their first born, a girl named Adeya Nomi, with a baby shower, held in Bel Air, Los Angeles, on Sunday (January 27, 2019).
Commenting on the day, she wrote on Twitter, “what a beautiful shower. i’m in awe of all the love we got. all the love she got. they made a video slideshow and i cried harder than i think i’ve ever cried. every second of today was perfect. thank you God. thank you Yaya. you are perfect.”
On Instagram, Young-White remembered the day with a poem: “we already know your name, we writing hooks about you, if anybody wanna talk, we getting booked about you.”
Attendees included actors Zendaya and Demetrius Harmonalong, plus music creatives Kamaiyah, Syd and SZA, whom Kehlani shouted out for providing one of her favorite presents, a year’s supply of diapers.
On Twitter, Kehlani announced on January 22nd that she was exactly eight months pregnant. She added, “reminder pregnancy is nearly 10 months y’all, not the beginning of the 9th,” which means the baby will likely arrive sometime in the first half of March.
