First revealed in October 2018, UGG today officially announced its collaboration with Hong Kong-based A Bathing Ape, an effort whose campaign is fronted by New Orleans-born rapper Lil Wayne.
The news was announced on social media with an image of a bare-chested Wayne wearing a pair of Ugg x BAPE shearling gloves with the caption, “Hands So Kold.” Ugg also set up a URL, ugg.com/bape-collaboration, dedicated to the drop.
In press, UGG stated, “Synonymous with premium materials and timeless luxury, UGG joins Japanese streetwear brand BAPE for a disruptive collaboration that is equal parts upscale and underground. True to our shared values of quality and iconic style, the UGG x BAPE Collection merges exclusive elegance and urban grit to further blur the line between fashion and street.”
The capsule includes boots, clogs and gloves. UGG hasn’t provided an exact drop date for the collection, but on December 28, 2018, @UGGJapan on Twitter described it as “coming soon.”
