Paris-based Jacquemus as lead by Simon Porte Jacquemus has become known for his mini Le Chiquito bags. First introduced on the label’s spring 2018 runway (which also included his famed over-sized straw hats), Rihanna gave the the tiny top handle bag with her seal of approval on a visit to Barbados in December 2017.
The label showed new colors of Le Chiquito bag on its fall 2019 runway and also introduced a super mini-version of the popular silhouette called Le Petit Chiquito, a silhouette that includes an extra long leather strap for wearing it as either the tiniest cross body bag on the planet or a necklace. All told it appears it can hold approximately four quarters or a crumpled up dollar of any quantity.
Offered in lavender, blue, red, orange and white Le Chiquito is priced at $535 while Le Petit Chiquito is $275. Both handbags are available for pre-order on modaoperandi.com.
