Vogue Arabia taps models Halima Aden, Ikram Abdi Omar and Amina Adan for its April 2019 cover, as photographed by Txema Yeste. The cover was styled by Katie Trotter with beauty handled by Karim Raham.
The cover marks the first time Vogue has featured multiple hijabi-wearing models on a cover. There are also three additional covers featuring each model shot solo. Commenting on the cover on Instagram, Aden wrote, “It’s important to remember that wearing a hijab is a woman’s personal choice, and I never claimed to be the perfect Muslim girl.”
Themed on modest style, the issue also includes features features on U.S. congresswoman Ilhan Omar, athletes Ibtihaj Muhammad and Zahra Lari, and CEO Ghizlan Guenez, among other inspirational women.
