Music promoter YesJulz née Julieanna Goddard was once again trending for all the wrong reasons today (March 11, 2019) on Twitter, this time for an interview in which the 28-year-old provided a run down of some of the controversies that have plagued her over the past two years. The conversation took place on “Easily Offended,” a YouTube channel series featuring hosts Murda Mook, ItsBizkit and Movie Matt.
YesJulz starting by addressing her decision in May 2017 to tweet an image of a t-shirt reading “niggas lie a lot.” She went on to explain how the controversy led to her Twitter beef with Joe Budden and his fiance, Cyn Santana, a fight that brought to the surface YesJulz’s attempt to help Budden return a pair of Kith joggers.
She also called out Revolt TV “State of the Culture” host Scottie Beam for threatening her on Twitter in response to her January 2019 freestyle whose lyrics were viewed as attacking black people for their inaction in the face of attacks by the government and corporate entities. She also mentioned brand consultant Karen Civil as someone who was disgruntled she was a host of a Miami Rolling Loud concert.
All three of the people she called out responded on Twitter, responses that were followed by continued exchanges between YesJulz, Beam and Civil.
On Twitter Beam wrote, “I have to keep this simple because I have work to do. Everyone knows you slept your way into this industry. Secondly, @YesJulz where are you? I’m in Newark. I am also in Jersey City on Fridays I’m in the city all the time. Send me your pin. Now. You and your black friends.” She then added, “I’ve worked very hard to create this ‘small’ platform that I am on now. I did not sleep my way up here. I did not have to DIM someone’s light to get here. I just worked with bright and eager passion.” She finished by writing, “Lastly. No matter how many black penises you hop on. You will NEVER be as BLACK as me, @YesJulz. And I know that hurts.”
Civil also responded on Twitter where she denied YezJulz’s accusations. “@YesJulz I’m not sure if you bumped your head before your interview. But I never spoke on you doing rolling loud. I could careless what opportunities are given to you because your blessings are not my blessings! I’ve been nothing but cordial to you.”
Referencing the Kith pants Budden unsuccessfully attempted to return, Budden reposted an image of the outfit on Twitter with a caption reading “You woulda tried to return this bullshit too.”
