Calvin Klein today (May 9, 2019) launched new #MYCALVINS campaign images and video featuring singer Billie Eilish, rapper Chika, singer Shawn Mendes and actor Noah Centineo.
In a series of videos video directed by Jonas Lindstroem, Eilish reveals the reasoning behind her baggy aesthetic. She explains, “I never want the world to know everything about me. I mean, that’s why I wear big, baggy clothes. Nobody can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath. Nobody can be like, ‘Oh, she’s slim-thick, she’s not slim-thick, she’s got a flat ass, she’s got a fat ass.’ No one can say any of that because they don’t know.”
The #MYCALVINS campaign debuted earlier this year with A$AP Rocky and Kendall Jenner and was shot by Mario Sorrenti. The return to campaigns featuring well-known creatives reflects a departure from the more artsy approach taken by Belgian-born designer Raf Simons, who was dismissed by the brand in January 2019.
