Paris-based Louis Vuitton presented its resort 2010 collection Friday (May 10, 2019) in the TWA Flight Center in John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York where the brand brought out the best of the white Eero Saarinen-designed landmark building, which is in the midst of being converted into a hotel.
The presentation was highlighted by a series of smart bags featuring flexible screens, a technology developed by Louis Vuitton. The screen will be offered on three silhouettes, Duffle, Speedy and NéoNoé.
Designed to be an extension of the owner’s smart phone, the bag’s touchscreen is capable of broadcasting cell phone images and videos. Each bag comes with a removable battery pack capable of holding a four hour charge.
While pricing for the bag hasn’t been announced, it’s rumored the bags will start at $5,000. Look for all three smart bags to launch some time in 2020.
