Remy Ma (real name Reminisce Mackie) turned herself into police today (May 1, 2019) and was charged with misdemeanor assault of her “Love & Hip Hop: New York” co-star Brittney Taylor. Remy was subsequently released after posting a bail of $1,500. The judge overseeing the case stated Remy can’t make contact with
Taylor accused Remy of punching her in an eye backstage at a concert at Irving Plaza on the night of April 17th. Immediately following the incident, Taylor shared a video on Instagram where she wrote in the caption, “So, here am I on my way to a very important meeting and it’s hard to even focus because of what occurred last night. I didn’t wanna bring it to social media because Its pretty embarrassing and not a good look tbh. I tried my best to cover it up with make up and move on but that still didn’t work. My Question is @remyma why did you really do this?”
According to TMZ, Remy’s attorney, Dawn Florio, has stated she’s innocent of all charges. Florio pointed out that Taylor claimed the attack happened at 9:30 PM and noted there’s video proof Remy was at home at that time.
Following her release, Remy was questioned by TMZ reporters but stayed silent.
