It looks like the law may have finally caught up with the long controversial Ian Connor, who announced on his Finsta account on Tuesday (June 25, 2019) that’s he’s going to jail. According to Connor, the charges are gun related.
On Instagram, the 26-year-old Connor wrote, “Going to prison for a year (trial starts tomorrow) over two illegal gun charges I’ve obtained over the past three years.” Oddly, Connor stated his prison term, but also noted the trial had yet to start. At the moment no major media outlet has reported on either his arrest or an impending trial.
In addition to his own brand, Revenge x Storm, Connor has worked in the role of stylist, model and consultant for Kanye West, Virgil Abloh, A$AP Rocky, Kylie Jenner, among others.
Connor’s prison-related announcement was made shortly after he proposed to model/designer Raven Tracy during a dinner celebrating her 26th birthday. Afterwards, she happily flashed her engagement ring on Instagram.
Reflecting on Connor’s controversial reputation, Tracy wrote, “No relationship is perfect… sometimes you gotta go through stuff to see what’s real . I found someone that i love from the inside out.’
On his own post, Connor noted Tracy would assume control of his businesses while he’s in prison.
Prior to Tracy, Connor had been dating “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” actress Tommie Lee, who is currently serving time in prison for violating the terms of her bond. Lee congratulated the couple on The Shaderoom‘s Instagram account where she wrote, “My blessings to them….and to the rest of y’all stop ruining the moment…”
Connor has been accused of sexual assault and rape by multiple women, starting with Malika Anderson, who detailed the account with an April 2016 Tumblr post that has since been deleted.
As of January 2019, according to the Business of Fashion, six women have gone on the record with written or videotaped statements claiming Connor raped them. In interviews and on social media, Connor has consistently denied the claims.
While Connor continues to rub shoulders with some of the style and music word’s most influential, some of the bigger musicians, brands and designers that once featured him prominently on their social media feeds and invited him to sit front row at their shows have quietly pulled back from the association.
Despite controversy, some have stuck by Connor. In a recent interview with Kerwin Frost, A$AP Rocky chose to bring Connor to the interview.
