Queens-raised rapper Nicki Minaj is slowly stepping back into the limelight, first announcing plans for a new “Queens Radio” episode, and today (June 19, 2019) dropping “BAPS” with Trina (real name Katrina Laverne Taylor), with whom she’s shared an enduring friendship. The title is a reference to the movie but also “bad ass pretty Sagittarians,” an acronym referencing Minaj and Trina’s shared star sign.
For those looking for Minaj lyrics taking shots at Cardi B, they’re just not there. The song is all about boasting and actually the one line that gives pause is: “I know this ball player that I been wantin’ to fuck,” mainly because a) who is “this ball player” and b) isn’t she in a serious relationship?
Next up, Minaj will dropping a single/video for “Megatron” on June 20th at midnight, followed by her latest episode of “Queens Radio,” airing on Apple Music on June 21st.
