For her debut London Fashion Week presentation on Monday (June 10, 2019), London-born designer Priya Ahluwalia dug into her Nigerian father and Indian mother’s family photo archives, along with the tradition of passing on clothes through generations.
The result was a sharply designed collection that made use of deadstock Levi’s, vintage garments and a fabric designed by Melanie Eames featuring a custom print created from her family’s photos.
With jewelry from Elena Croce and customized Adidas sneakers and Invicta bags, Ahluwalia stands out as a cool and powerful voice taking upcycled fashion to beautiful levels.
