Antwerp-based designer Di Du is the latest Royal Academy of Fine Arts graduate to turn heads with her recently-presented graduate collection titled “Sip My Ocean.”
Observing the minimalist sport look through an avant gard lens, the China-born Du’s designs have drawn in fashion risk takers including Rosalía , Sita Abellan, singer Rico Nasty, who chose the label for her attendance at Vogue’s pre-Met Gala party.
In an interview with i-D, Du explained, “There’s a subtle energy in this collection. Like ocean water, it’s fluid, flowing, soft, but very powerful.”
Striving to find balance between the pull of social media buzz and her creative process, Du is working on a new collection with plans to launch this September.
