We refuse to get our hopes up, BUT SZA appears to be inching seriously closer to dropping new music, news she announced while on a five-date tour in Australia and New Zealand. While performing at Hordern Pavillion in Sidney on Friday (July 26, 2019), the 28-year-old Solána Imani Rowe told the audience, “True tea, I’m probably gonna drop like a little project before my album so I can just get it out of the way, because realistically speaking if you leave it up to my foolish ass, we’ll be here quite some time.”
Speaking to what songs would be including on the project, she added, “The ones that you guys know are the ones that I will be dropping and if you research, which you should know, then you’ll know.”
Two of songs likely to be included on the project are tentatively titled “Brace Yourself” and “Guard Down,” both of which she has teased in months past on social media and performed while in Australia.
While SZA has been featured on more recent projects with Cardi, DJ Khaled and others, her last solo project, Ctrl, dropped in June 2017.
