The rumors of Jennifer Lopez headlining the NFL’s 2020 Halftime Show in Miami are true. The Bronx native was announced today as a headliner, a slot she will share with Colombian-born pop singer Shakira.
Lopez hasn’t been shy about her wish to perform at the event and recently while promoting Hustlers, told Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest, “It’s something that we’ve talked about for many years, and, you know, it would be nice. It would be nice. I can’t say I wouldn’t love it.”
Taking place at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on February 2nd, the Halftime Show will be managed by the NFL and Roc Nation, which announced a partnership with the league in August 2019.
The event is sponsored by Pepsi, whose senior vice president of sports, media and entertainment, Adam Harter, stated, “We’ve been working closely behind-the-scenes with our long-standing partners at the NFL, and now alongside Roc Nation to bring these mega superstars together. It is a testament to our partnership and commitment to push the envelope of what is possible.”
