IKEA has announced launch info for its Off-White “MARKERAD” capsule, which includes a chair, table, glass cabinet, doorstop and a Virgil Abloh version of the chain’s famed Frakta bag, among other items.
There will also be a selection of rugs. IKEA and Off-White did a solo launch of an Oriental “KEEP OFF” rug in May 2019 though it’s not clear if that rug will return as part of the “MARKERAD” capsule.
Acccording to the Swedish chain, offerings will hit all stores globally the first week of November 2019. When IKEA launched Off-White’s “KEEP OFF” rug earlier this year, it used a rolling launch system based on geography rather than dropping it all on the same day globally.
While the “MARKERAD” launch is proceeding as planned, Abloh is currently on a doctor-mandated hiatus from all travel and will not be able to attend any marketing events related to the effort.
