Atlanta-based Summer Walker has dropped her debut album Over It, an 18-track album filled with songs whose lyrics perfectly speak to the challenges and joys impacting women’s lives today. While the project takes cues from ’90s-era r&b (it includes input from Usher‘s via his 1997 smash single “You Make Me Wanna”), Walker’s voice and the songs’ themes are thoroughly modern.
Executive produced by Walker’s beau, London On Da Track, (real name London Holmes), the album includes features by Drake, Bryson Tiller, 6LACK, PARTYNEXTDOOR, A Boogie and Jhené Aiko.
Following the drop, the 23-year-old Walker received the ultimate co-sign on the project from Drake, who told her in an Instagram DM, “Just made me write two songs it’s 7:30 am here.”
The album is out now and available on all streaming platforms. Walker kicks off her “The First and Last Tour” on October 20th.
